Patuxent Brewing Co. is the first brewery in Charles County since prohibition! Additionally, it’s one of the two black-owned breweries in Maryland. Since opening in 2019, they’ve offered a place for those in Southern Maryland to gather over delicious beers. From their classic 301 Pale Ale to their Blueberry Oops IPA, there are plenty of flavors to choose from!
Mully’s Brewery had its beginnings in 2012. Each of the 500-gallon batches are made done so by hand — weighing, adding, mixing, stirring, and more. While they have their delicious pale ales and IPAs, they also offer some unique flavors! Try their Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout or their Boysenberry Blonde. No matter what you drink, you’ll find a delicious option at Mully’s Brewery.
Calvert Brewing Company is one of Maryland’s largest breweries. Located in Upper Marlboro, about 35 minutes from Adams Crossing, Calvert Brewing Company is well worth the drive! With both year-round beers and seasonal rotations, you’ll find a mixture of tried and true and brand new flavors. Whether you’re in the mood for something light, something hoppy, or something rich, they have an extensive tap list ready to quench your thirst.
A little further down the road, about 40 minutes to be exact, you’ll find Port City Brewing Company in Alexandria. While it’s a bit further away, don’t let that deter you from enjoying their tasty brews! As one of the oldest packaging breweries in metropolitan DC, Port City Brewing has plenty of experience and, in turn, delicious beers. With a large menu featuring year-round brews to seasonal rotations, there’s always something new to try at Port City Brewing Company.
